DSH notification center plug-in: events such as dialogue/task completion, error reporting, waiting for approval, etc. trigger browser notifications + 21 matching sound effects

DSH Notification Center pops a browser system notification and plays a sound alert when a conversation or task finishes, so nothing is missed even in another window. It ships 21 built-in replaceable sounds, per-event configuration (notification toggle, sound type, custom sound file/URL, volume), a notification button on the input bar, and a full Settings → Notification Center panel. Events cover conversation done, subtask done, workflow done, background job done, and approval pending (instant alert not subject to cooldown); stop reasons cover error, max tokens exceeded, blocked, other, and manual stop/interrupt (silent by default). Settings auto-save and survive page refreshes; a test button and permission grant flow are built in.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add @lyhalal/dsh-notification-center

One command — dsh plugin --profile web add @lyhalal/dsh-notification-center — then restart DSH and the browser side loads automatically, no extra configuration. Manual equivalent: npm install @lyhalal/dsh-notification-center in the DSH project and add a plugins row (from: '@lyhalal/dsh-notification-center') to the host cordis.yml. Remove with dsh plugin --profile web remove @lyhalal/dsh-notification-center. Third-party community plugin, not an official DeepSeek Harness product.

Compatibility

DeepSeek Harness web profile. In a browser it uses web system notifications (grant permission once via the address bar); when packaged as a desktop app (Electron/Tauri) it automatically switches to native host-process notifications (Windows notification center / macOS Notification Center / Linux notify-send) shown as 'DeepSeek Harness', with no browser-permission dependency. Sounds play only after at least one click on the page (browser autoplay policy).

The current README documents the feature list, the one-command install, usage (input-bar quick toggles, Settings → Notification Center, per-event sound type/volume/toggle), native-notification behavior in packaged desktop apps, autoplay and permission notes, and uninstall.

FAQ

Do I need to grant permission for notifications?
In a browser, yes — click 'Grant' or 'Test' once on first use; in a packaged desktop app (Electron/Tauri) native notifications need no browser permission and the permission row hides automatically.
Why don't sounds play on the first message?
Browser autoplay policy requires at least one click on the page before sounds play; this is expected browser behavior, not a plugin bug.
Does a manual stop of generation notify me?
By default no — manual stop/interrupt is silent; enable it under 'Stop reasons → Manual stop/interrupt' if you want an alert.
