dingyi222666/dsh-session-notification

Provides notification responses in four states including session completion, and supports browser prompts and prompt words

dsh-session-notification gives the dsh web GUI a heads-up system: when a session finishes, hits an error, asks a question, or needs permission, a sound plays and — when you step away from the tab — a system notification keeps you in the loop. Four kinds with default sounds: session completed (chime), session failed (fault), question asked (pop), permission requested (alert). Each kind can be enabled/disabled and reassigned to any of four Web-Audio-synthesized sounds (no audio files shipped) or muted, with a 0-200% volume slider and custom audio upload. A Notifications settings section (Settings ⚙ → Notifications) provides master switches for browser notifications and sound, per-kind rows with Preview buttons, and a Test notification button. The session you are reading stays quiet by default (opt-in Alert for the current session toggle).

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add @dingyi222666/dsh-session-notification

dsh plugin --profile web add @dingyi222666/dsh-session-notification (requires dsh >= 0.1.1-rc.2), then restart dsh web. Everything lives in the plugin — no harness (host) changes: the settings section is registered through the client slot system (settings.section), preferences persist in browser localStorage and sync across tabs, and nothing requires the host's WEB_SETTINGS_NAMESPACES.

Compatibility

dsh web GUI, requires dsh >= 0.1.1-rc.2. No host changes needed; four notification kinds with per-kind enable/disable and sound assignment; custom audio (mp3/ogg/wav up to 1 MB) stored browser-locally; browser notifications off by default (permission requested via user gesture).

Recent updates

The current README documents the four notification kinds, the browser-notifications permission flow, custom audio, the quiet-by-default behavior, how the browser half classifies runs (running edge true→false; failed when a turn-error node or host agent-error appeared), and the known limitation that sessions never opened don't notify as failed.

FAQ

Does it require harness changes?
No — everything lives in the plugin; the settings section registers through the client slot system like official sections and preferences persist in localStorage.
What notifications does it send?
Four kinds: session completed, session failed, question asked, and permission requested — each with its own sound and enable switch.
Will it interrupt me while I read a session?
The session you are reading stays quiet by default; flip the Alert for the current session toggle to be alerted while reading it.
