A desktop shell for DeepSeek Harness whose Rust backend owns the kernel lifecycle and keeps it one click new: directory validation, free-port allocation, spawning dsh web, HTTP health checks and process-group termination, plus a one-click updater (git fetch diff against the remote → git pull --ff-only → pnpm install → pnpm run build, with first-time install = git clone + build) and settings persistence at ~/Library/Application Support/com.deepseekharness.desktop/settings.json. The Tauri + Svelte front end embeds the official web interface in an iframe with a top bar for status light, start/stop, check-update and settings, plus a live log panel, settings modal and update banner.

Download the dmg from github.com/vpertj/deepseek-harness-desktop/releasesREADME installation: download the dmg from Releases, open it and drag the app into Applications. First launch only: the app is ad-hoc signed (no paid Developer ID), so macOS shows "cannot verify the developer" once — right-click the app → Open → Open; afterwards the app removes its download flag and every later launch opens directly. Prerequisites for the online install / kernel start: Node.js ≥ 22 and pnpm (corepack enable pnpm or npm i -g pnpm). Source build: pnpm install, pnpm run build, npm install, npm run tauri dev; package with npm run tauri build (artifacts under src-tauri/target/release/bundle/).
Compatibility
macOS (dmg; ad-hoc signed, not notarized). Tauri 2 + Svelte 5 shell; the kernel is a deepseek-harness git checkout driven with pnpm dsh web --port <auto-assigned>. Prerequisites for the online install / kernel start: Node.js ≥ 22 and pnpm. Known limitations per README: the kernel must be stopped before updating (avoiding locked files or an interrupted service) and updates are refused while the kernel runs.
