Player-MINEPIG/dsh-tavern

A plugin which makes dsh compatible with SillyTavern artifacts.

pmp-dsh-tavern is a DeepSeek Harness plugin for Tavern resource compatibility, roleplay (RP) workflow, and third-party frontend protocol: it adds a testable, auditable, uninstallable Tavern compatibility layer on top of public DSH extension points and atomic APIs. In Lingzhu / DSH native mode you keep native DSH sessions, sidebar, and the plugin ecosystem; in Mowan / RP mode the plugin regroups the RP sidebar by character card and playthrough, and provides greeting, display regex, swipe, branch, rollback, import, and export. DSH remains authoritative — durable history, tools, permissions, and the final model request stay owned by DSH, and original sessions stay readable after uninstall (the plugin stores resources, selections, playthrough pointers, and display metadata only). v2.0 feature map: SillyTavern presets and V1/V2/V3 JSON/PNG character cards, standalone/embedded world books, user profiles, bindings, export; a character/playthrough sidebar with greeting and first-turn read-only import injection; authoritative DSH-session playthrough data with tree timeline and static HTML / ST JSONL export; an RP permission overlay plus same-origin/loopback API, workspace path jail, CAS, DOMPurify, and a content-free operation log; Tavern Trace debugging; and a v2 HTTP API with a pmpDshTavernChrome mode service for standalone clients.

Install

git clone https://github.com/Player-MINEPIG/dsh-tavern.git && cd dsh-tavern && npm install --cache .npm-cache --legacy-peer-deps && npm run plugin:install

Git checkout install per README (npm package dsh-tavern 1.9.2 exists on the registry as of 2026-08-24; the README's documented install is the clone + plugin:install flow): git clone https://github.com/Player-MINEPIG/dsh-tavern.git, cd dsh-tavern, npm install --cache .npm-cache --legacy-peer-deps, npm run plugin:install, then restart DSH Web. Requirements: Node.js 20+, dsh on PATH, an initialized DSH profile (default web). The plugin installs a Tavern resource-compatibility + RP-workflow layer on top of public DSH extension points — it does not replace DSH's UI or copy conversation history. Stop the target dsh web before updating an existing install; the installer keeps plugin data across refresh. Documentation matches v2.0.0, developed and validated against DSH rc.8.

Compatibility

DeepSeek Harness rc.8 (development baseline for v2.0.0; newer releases provide better native implementations for some capabilities, but this plugin has not yet migrated to them). Node.js 20+. Dual-mode design: Lingzhu/DSH native mode keeps native sessions/sidebar/plugin ecosystem; Mowan/RP mode regroups the RP sidebar by character card and playthrough with greeting, display regex, swipe, branch, rollback, import, export. DSH remains authoritative for durable history, tools, permissions, and the final model request. RP secure-mode adds read-only and high-risk tool limits on top of DSH permissions; it is not a VM/container/sandbox. Targets local loopback DSH Web — do not expose to LAN or public internet.

Recent updates

The current English README (README_en.md) documents: design (dual-mode compatibility mechanism), a prominent security warning, quick start (install → import a character card → create a DSH workspace → enter RP frontend → create a playthrough → choose a greeting → start chatting), the v2.0 feature map, important boundaries, and a full documentation index (usage, installation, HTTP API, RP frontend integration, architecture, loader contract, DSH message flow, prompt pipeline, world-book design, changelog, security policy).

FAQ

Does it replace the DSH frontend or copy conversation history?
No — pmp-dsh-tavern does not replace DSH with another UI and does not copy conversation history. It adds a Tavern compatibility layer on public DSH extension points; outside Mowan/RP mode the user still sees ordinary DSH, and DSH remains authoritative for durable history.
Are my original sessions affected after uninstall?
No — the plugin stores only resources, selections, playthrough pointers, and display metadata. It does not forge or overwrite DSH history, so original sessions stay readable after uninstall.
What does RP secure mode actually protect?
RP mode adds read-only and high-risk tool limits on top of DSH permissions (child agents inherit the overlay). It is not a VM, container, or system sandbox — it cannot constrain other local processes, so keep DSH approval and sandboxing enabled and avoid secrets in the conversation.
