doctrove is versioned documentation retrieval for coding agents: it maintains a library-documentation catalog index so agents fetch accurate, versioned, traceable API documentation snippets on demand while writing code — instead of guessing API usage from training memory (avoiding APIs that don't exist in the docs, outdated signatures, and fabricated parameters). Every entry carries multiple documentation volumes supporting latest-stable / exact-version / prefix-version selection; retrieval and snippet results carry 0–1 relevance scores and hit signals so the model can verify why something ranked first. It is offline-capable (ships a built-in local demo index), self-hostable (the index is an open JSON format any static host can serve), caches with TTL + LRU, and degrades gracefully to the local index when a remote index is unreachable, tagging results with their source. Install
git clone https://github.com/JohnXu22786/docs-retriever && cd docs-retriever && dsh plugin --profile web add .README EN body verified 2026-09-02 (repo JohnXu22786/docs-retriever, toolset doctrove; zh edition link present). Option B in the README (recommended): the package declares a dsh bundle (cordis.patch.yml + self-built bridge plugin) — in the plugin checkout directory run dsh plugin --profile web add .; tools appear automatically as mcpdoctrove*. Remove: dsh plugin --profile web remove doctrove. Option A: connect as a plain MCP stdio server from any MCP client (node src/entry.js; requires Node >= 18.17; offline mode by default with the built-in demo index). Zero runtime dependencies.
