Claude Paper is a research-paper study environment that works inside DeepSeek Harness. Drop in a PDF and it automatically extracts the title, authors, abstract, and full text, generates a context-safe 50k preview, finds linked GitHub repositories, writes an adaptive README/summary/Q&A, and creates a Nuxt.js interactive viewer with math equation rendering. Designed for researchers who want their AI agent to become a genuine co-reader rather than a glorified summariser.
Install
npx --yes @zlzliqing/claude-paper@latest install --target deepseek-harnessRequires Node 20.19.x or 22.12+. The npm package copies the plugin runtime to your DSH data directory and installs compatibility Skills in ~/.agents/skills/. Restart DSH after install. To upgrade: npx --yes @zlzliqing/claude-paper@latest upgrade --target deepseek-harness

- Yes. Run npx --yes @zlzliqing/claude-paper@latest install --target deepseek-harness to install only the DSH integration. The installer registers the plugin in your DSH data directory and copies Skills to ~/.agents/skills/. Restart DSH after install.
- What happens to the full paper text -- does it fill my context window?
- No. Claude Paper saves the complete paper text to paper.txt on disk but keeps only a 50k-token preview in metadata. The agent reads the file when it needs more context, so you get full-paper access without blowing your context window on every message.
- Does it work on PDFs behind a paywall?
- No -- Claude Paper parses PDFs you provide directly, not ones fetched remotely. Download the PDF first (institution access, open access, or arXiv), then pass it to the plugin.
