ZihaoVistonWang/Stata-AI-Skill
Run Stata through DeepSeek Harness: the native Stata AI Skill service auto-starts with DSH (macOS/Windows binaries bundled), so you can run regressions, do-files and econometrics workflows with no manual setup.
A native localhost HTTP service that lets AI agents run Stata without VS Code, Node.js, or Python on the user side. A single native executable (macOS stata-ai-skill, Windows stata-ai-skill.exe) exposes /status, /configure, /setup, /execute, /break and /shutdown endpoints: it discovers installed Stata versions (Windows registry or macOS /Applications), verifies the license file, installs the aiskill ado package into the user's ado path with explicit consent, then executes Stata code with timeouts and cwd control, returning stdout/stderr plus optional PNG/JPG graph exports. Agents can also query Lianxh literature (lianxh , md — max three searches per task, with permission required for ssc install lianxh).
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add @zihaovistonwang/stata-ai-skilldsh plugin --profile web add @zihaovistonwang/stata-ai-skill (npm @zihaovistonwang/stata-ai-skill 1.3.0, verified npm 2026-08-31; repo ZihaoVistonWang/Stata-AI-Skill). This installs the package into ~/.dsh/profiles/web/node_modules and adds it to the dsh.profile.bundles layer; then restart DSH Web. Alternative: npx skills.sh install ZihaoVistonWang/Stata-AI-Skill --skill stata-ai-skill --global --yes --agent dsh, or copy the extracted stata-ai-skill folder from the v1.3 ZIP into the DSH skills directory.
Compatibility
DSH web profile (also Claude Code/Codex/OpenCode skills via skills.sh); native localhost HTTP service (port 19522) — no VS Code, Node or Python needed at runtime; macOS Apple Silicon + Windows x64/ARM64 binaries; requires a licensed Stata with stata.lic present; MIT.

FAQ
- Do I need Node or Python to run Stata with this?
- No — the distributed artifact is a single native executable (Mach-O for Apple Silicon macOS, PE for Windows). No VS Code, Node.js or Python runtime is required on the user side.
- Which Stata versions are supported?
- The service discovers installed Stata (Windows: HKLM/HKCU uninstall registry views, newest version first then MP/SE/BE/IC; macOS: /Applications) and requires a valid license file (stata.lic or STATA.lic) in the installation directory.
- How does it install the aiskill ado package?
- It generates an installation.do in the user's selected Stata installation and asks the user to run it in Stata; the service then waits for the /installed callback. Nothing is installed without the user's explicit consent.
