A DeepSeek Harness community plugin that drives a headless Playwright browser: rendered page text, screenshots

Drives a headless browser from DeepSeek Harness via Playwright, registering six model-callable tools that cover what the built-in web_fetch (plain HTTP) cannot: browser_navigate (open a URL, wait for load, return rendered title, body text and links), browser_snapshot (current page's rendered text), browser_click (any Playwright CSS selector), browser_type (fill an input), browser_screenshot (save a viewport PNG) and browser_close (release resources). This lets the model read JavaScript-rendered pages, take screenshots and automate page interactions.

Install

⚠️ Install command not yet confirmed — check the README on GitHub for the exact command.

Compatibility

DeepSeek Harness with Playwright's bundled chromium by default (install it once with npx playwright install chromium), or a system browser via the executablePath config instead of the browser download. Sessions start lazily on first use and close when the plugin unloads; each agent gets its own isolated browser session, while calls without an agent share a default session.

FAQ

How do I install dsh-plugin-browser?
The README's install block shows dsh plugin --profile demo add github:you/dsh-plugin-browser with a placeholder owner, so substitute the real repository owner; then run npx playwright install chromium from the profile directory.
Do I have to download Chromium?
No — the README's executablePath config points at a system browser (for example Google Chrome) instead of Playwright's bundled chromium.
What can the model do with it?
Six tools: navigate and read JavaScript-rendered pages, snapshot page text, click elements, fill inputs, take screenshots and close the session — capabilities the built-in web_fetch cannot provide.
