Codex Appshots for DSH: capture the frontmost active window via global shortcut and seamlessly mount it into the composer for agent queries.
DSH's version of Codex Appshots: a global hotkey (macOS left⌘+right⌘, Windows left Ctrl+right Ctrl, both customizable) captures the frontmost window only — not the full screen — and drops the screenshot into the active DSH Composer as image context, so you can ask the agent about what's on screen without manual screenshot/switch/paste. macOS uses ScreenCaptureKit with Retina resolution, a capture-then-raise order that never screenshots DSH itself, and SSE delivery; Windows uses a mouse-screen frontmost-window lock, two-phase screenshot with degrade-to-backup, and silent non-activating delivery with shutter-sound/throbber feedback. Staging files follow a single-owner contract and are cleaned on every path.
Install

- What exactly gets captured?
- Only the one frontmost window you are operating (Chrome, VS Code, Finder, Terminal...) — never the whole screen, desktop wallpaper, menu bar/Dock or background apps.
- Which platforms are supported?
- macOS 14+ (Apple Silicon/arm64) and Windows 10 19041+ (x64), with prebuilt native agents; the WebUI is not supported because the browser sandbox cannot get global hotkeys.
- Does it need permissions?
- On macOS, Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions are required on first trigger (guided prompts); Windows needs no extra authorization.
