Sttrevens/dsh-linked-folders
Multi-folder workspace: a durable global linked-folders list plus per-session on-the-fly linking (link_folder/unlink_folder), managed from the Web sidebar with a native folder picker.
dsh-linked-folders gives a session multi-folder workspace access like Codex's linked folders: a durable global linked-folders list (cross-session) plus per-session temporary links the model adds/removes on the fly with link_folder / unlink_folder tools. Both lists are injected into the system prompt, so the model knows which extra roots it may cd into and work across. The composer's folder button opens the management panel — add by absolute path or Browse, remove with x, and see the session's temporary links; the model can also say 'link folder /path/to/foo' and the agent calls link_folder. An optional Tier-2 patch adds a 'Link folder…' entry to the official workspace-picker menu (script patches the compiled dsh-client-ui-workspace bundle, idempotent, original backed up to *.pre-linkfolder.bak). It only advertises folders and provides the UI — it does not change the file sandbox: under workspace-write the model can read linked folders while writes stay confined to the session workspace root.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add @steven-wu/dsh-linked-foldersnpm @steven-wu/dsh-linked-folders 0.1.0-rc.6 verified 2026-09-02 (repository field → github.com/Sttrevens/dsh-linked-folders; README EN primary). The package declares a dsh.bundle manifest, so dsh plugin --profile web add @steven-wu/dsh-linked-folders installs it and adds it to the profile's bundle layers automatically; restart the web profile and refresh the page. State lives in ~/.dsh/linked-folders.json (override via DSH_LINKED_FOLDERS or config.path); linked folders are canonicalized to real paths and must be existing directories.
Compatibility
DSH web profile (rc.6+; the client bundle explicitly mounts the linkedFolders Remote contribution before the sidebar consumes it); global + per-session link lists.

FAQ
- How does the model use linked folders?
- Both lists are injected into the system prompt, so the model knows which extra roots it may cd into; it can add a session link on the fly by calling link_folder (say 'link folder /path').
- Does it widen the file sandbox?
- No — it only advertises folders and provides the management UI. Under workspace-write the model can read linked folders, but writes are still confined to the session workspace root.
- Where is the list stored?
- In ~/.dsh/linked-folders.json (path overridable via DSH_LINKED_FOLDERS or the bundle row config); entries are canonicalized to real paths and must be existing directories.
