Step-by-step approval gate before writing files/tool calls: write/edit/stream operation displays red and green line-level diff before release, bash command approval (default off) + configurable gate control; npm dsh-edit-approval, dsh plugin add one-click installation
Ask-before-act approval for DSH with two mirror-symmetric gates. Edit approval intercepts write, edit and str_replace_editor and shows a red/green line-level diff — approve once or reject — and it is on by default. Bash approval intercepts bash commands, showing a description headline plus the native command row, and is off by default. Each gate has its own master switch under Settings → General, so the agent can never modify files or run commands without your say-so. Both ride the harness's own serviceAsk seam from tools/pre-execute, so the host UI is unchanged; under the never permission policy the plugin delegates so full-access sessions keep working.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-edit-approvalnpm package dsh-edit-approval 0.3.2 (registry-verified 2026-09-10; registry repository field -> github.com/SiriLee/dsh-edit-approval). Restart dsh web (--profile web) after installing. For contributors the README documents a local checkout or a pinned commit: dsh plugin --profile web add /path/to/dsh-edit-approval or github:SiriLee/dsh-edit-approval.
Compatibility
Verified DSH range ^0.1.0-rc.6 || ^0.1.1-rc.2 || ^0.1.2-rc.1 || ^0.1.5-rc.1 (@deepseek-ai/dsh-settings peer). The client detects the host version by capability presence, never by parsing a version string.
