Cross-session messaging for DSH — any session on the machine can list and messag
Cross-session messaging for DSH, Claude Code-style: any session on the machine can list and message any other, with no daemon. Each session running the bundle publishes a heartbeat to a local registry under ~/.dsh/crosstalk/ (files + atomic rename), gets a stable name (<repo-or-cwd-slug>-<adjective>, e.g. dsh-cowork-amber) plus a durable ref id, and any session can list the live ones and send a message that arrives as a clearly-labeled turn — [message from session dsh-cowork-amber (…)] — with the sender's name riding along so replying is just send_message back. The peer session wakes (or picks it up at the next turn boundary) and its reply wakes you the same way.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Jesse-njx/dsh-crosstalkFirst allow the build hook in the profile workspace (~/.dsh/profiles/web/pnpm-workspace.yaml): allowBuilds: {'@dsh-crosstalk/bundle': true}. Then add the bundle to every profile that should participate: dsh plugin --profile web add github:Jesse-njx/dsh-crosstalk (and --profile <other> for peers). Local checkout: clone, pnpm install && pnpm build, then dsh plugin --profile web add "$PWD".
Compatibility
DeepSeek Harness bundles. No daemon — sessions share a local registry under ~/.dsh/crosstalk/ via files + atomic rename; works when sessions share a home directory.

FAQ
- Does it need a daemon or server?
- No — sessions share a local file registry under ~/.dsh/crosstalk/ with atomic rename; if two sessions can see the same home directory, they can message.
- How do sessions identify each other?
- Each session gets a stable name like dsh-cowork-amber (repo-or-cwd slug + adjective) plus a durable ref id.
- Do both sides need the plugin?
- Yes — add the bundle to every profile that should participate in messaging.
