DeepSeek Harness Desktop wraps the official npm-distributed Harness Web profile in a native Electron window. It is deliberately a thin launcher rather than a forked UI: Electron's Node 24 runtime starts the real dsh web engine, waits for its loopback server, and displays that upstream interface with sessions, settings, and plugins intact. It shares ~/.dsh with the CLI by default, can be isolated with DSH_HOME, and automatically builds new cross-platform releases when the pinned upstream package changes.

FAQ

Do I need Node.js to use DeepSeek Harness Desktop?
No. Electron includes Node.js 24 and the app bundles the pinned @deepseek-ai/dsh distribution.
Does the desktop app share my CLI sessions?
Yes. It uses ~/.dsh by default, so CLI and desktop sessions, settings, and plugins are shared. Set DSH_HOME to isolate them.
Are the desktop installers code-signed?
Not currently. The README notes that macOS Gatekeeper and Windows SmartScreen may warn; review the release and source before bypassing a warning.
