Automatic semantic memory plugin for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) via memsearch
dsh-memsearch makes DeepSeek Harness auto-write and recall memsearch memories by default, mirroring the official Codex/Claude Code memsearch plugins. At session start it runs a background memsearch index and injects a status message (version, embedding provider, journal dir, past-memory count, recall hint); at turn end it auto-captures the user question plus the agent's final reply, appends a compact entry to <memoryDir>/<YYYY-MM-DD>.md, and re-indexes incrementally in the background — deduped, the same turn is never written twice. Recall follows the official design: no automatic context stuffing — the agent searches on demand via the memsearch memory-recall skill. Config covers enabled, memoryDir, collection, injectSessionStatus, capture, captureMinPromptLength (skip greetings), maxCaptureChars (8000), summarizePlugin (e.g. 'codex' for an LLM summary when a memsearch [llm] provider is configured) and indexAfterCapture.
Install
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-memsearchnpm dsh-memsearch 0.1.7 verified 2026-09-02 (repository field → github.com/clouwer/dsh-memsearch; README EN primary with zh edition). Install per README: dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-memsearch (or from GitHub source: dsh plugin --profile web add "git+https://github.com/clouwer/dsh-memsearch.git"), then append the plugin instance to ~/.dsh/profiles/web/cordis.patch.yml via an insert list: - insert: - id: memsearch-automemory / name: 'dsh-memsearch' / config: {enabled: true} (new plugin instances must be added with an insert list — plain id:-targeted patches only override existing entries), then restart dsh web. Dependencies: the plugin consumes the host DSH's own @deepseek-ai/cordis and @deepseek-ai/dsh-agent via peerDependencies — nothing extra to install. Requires the external memsearch binary (MCP-style local service) on the machine.
Compatibility
DSH web profile; consumes host cordis/dsh-agent peers; journal at ~/.memsearch/memory or $MEMSEARCH_DIR/memory; fully local, offline-ready by default (no LLM calls).

FAQ
- When is memory captured?
- At turn end: the plugin auto-appends the user question plus the agent's final reply to <memoryDir>/<YYYY-MM-DD>.md, then re-indexes in the background — the same turn is never written twice.
- Does it stuff context automatically?
- No — recall follows the official design: the agent searches on demand through the memsearch memory-recall skill instead of automatic context stuffing.
- Does it need an LLM?
- No — fully local and offline-ready by default; an optional memsearch [llm] provider enables LLM summarization via summarizePlugin.
