Clickable file paths in DSH replies: Codex-style inline open, 📂 reveal in file manager, mentioned-files chip l

dsh-file-mentions makes file paths in DSH replies clickable with a Codex-style experience: inline paths wrapped in backticks (tilde, absolute, relative, or Chinese paths) become click-to-open with the default app or directory reveal; each clickable path carries a folder-icon button to reveal the file in the file manager; a 'mentioned files' chip list at the turn tail covers the rest, with preview inside DSH. URLs are left to the official autolinker. Supports ~/ expansion, relative paths resolved against the session cwd, and macOS/Linux/Windows absolute forms; non-existent paths silently do nothing. For safety, paths outside the session working directory (external drives, ~/Desktop) need to be added to the external-drive whitelist (Settings → Plugins → file-mentions); system-disk marker directories (/System, /etc, \Windows) are rejected automatically. This is an unofficial, community-maintained project.

Install

dsh plugin --profile web add "github:a903067276-rgb/dsh-file-mentions#main"

This is an official bundle plugin (dsh.bundle + dsh.client in the root package.json) installed through the profile manager with dsh plugin --profile web add "github:a903067276-rgb/dsh-file-mentions#main", then restart dsh web (bundle layers compose at startup; HMR does not apply). Requires pnpm on PATH (dsh plugin forwards to pnpm). Manual mount fallback documented in docs/install.md.

Compatibility

DeepSeek Harness Web. DSH web >= 0.1.0-rc.6 (run with npx @deepseek-ai/dsh web). Compatibility is best-effort: verified locally on rc.6/rc.8/0.1.1-rc.2; conservative fallbacks exist for rc.7/rc.8 (v1.0.8 tag) and rc.6 (rc6-compat tag). Pure Node stdlib implementation; peer dependencies (@deepseek-ai/dsh-settings, @deepseek-ai/schemastery) are provided by the host. macOS fully tested (incl. Chinese paths); Linux/Windows expected to work but untested.

Recent updates

The current README documents the click-to-open feature table, install via official bundle channel, external-drive whitelist settings with system-disk protection, platform support matrix, version compatibility fallbacks, and the maintenance policy (best-effort on older DSH versions).

FAQ

Do all paths become clickable automatically?
Only paths inside the current session's working directory; external drives and other directories outside it must be added to the external-drive whitelist (one path per line) to become clickable.
Which DSH versions does it support?
DSH web >= 0.1.0-rc.6, best effort — verified on rc.6/rc.8/0.1.1-rc.2, with fallback tags v1.0.8 (rc.7/rc.8) and rc6-compat (rc.6).
Does it open files on all platforms?
macOS is fully tested (including Chinese paths); Linux and Windows are implemented with command branching but not tested by the author.
